When we first met, I was not fitting in. Ben’s coaching and 360º review were game-changers. The self-awareness, it’s almost like a superpower. Honestly, I got more out of it than my MBA.
When you know you’re capable but you’re still not connecting
Three months in, it’s obvious: you’re not fitting in. Despite your successful track record, you’re struggling to make your ideas land with people from totally different backgrounds.
You know you’re capable. The problem is figuring out exactly what needs to change.
I’ve navigated major context shifts my entire career. From cofounding an agency in Brazil to joining the New York Times as an iOS engineer. From freelance app developer to joining Vice Media as Director of Mobile, then starting an operations consulting firm with clients like Peloton and Atlassian.
All this to say: I know how to help capable leaders translate their experience to new contexts.
This isn’t therapy. It’s strategic work with immediate impact. My clients see positive changes in their work relationships within the first month, sometimes after the first session. As we go, I’ll share frameworks and tools you’ll actually use—the kind you’ll recommend to your own direct reports for years to come.
Between sessions, I’ll be available for spot coaching via text or email when urgent situations arise. Think of me as part of your personal advisory board.
I work with leaders in major transitions who need to translate their expertise into influence. If you’re ready to develop self-awareness that unlocks lasting influence, here’s what that relationship looks like:
I was struggling to connect with folks or translate my experiences to them in a way that made sense. I got more out of our first coaching session than out of 4-5 months of my last coach. One of the breakthroughs was when you used the phrase “communication is what the listener does.” I was so focused on trying to refine the way that I share my ideas, that I was less focused on how it was landing. By reframing things in terms of medium and long-term goals, it’s helped me develop a little more patience.
I’m going into conversations better prepared, identifying the audience, and understanding what needs to be delivered. I was confident in my ability to facilitate conversations, but in retrospect, I could have done it more efficiently. It’s not just the language, but delivering the content so that it makes sense to the listener.
More and more ideas that stemmed from our coaching calls are being taken onboard by leadership! My latest direct report told me, ‘You’re 1,000x better than managers I’ve worked with before who supposedly have years of management experience.’
In my new role, I just wanted to have someone help me be successful, understanding a new culture, a new team dynamic. Ben helped make my strategy more concrete, make my meetings more impactful. It’s the voice in the back of my head. Where I was day one and where I am now is light years away. What I was craving was the trust and I think I got it.
When we first met, I was not fitting in. The first step was figuring out what I needed to change. Ben’s coaching and 360º review were game-changers. The self-awareness, it’s almost like a superpower. Honestly, I got more out of it than my MBA. I also moved up to bigger leadership roles, even jumping from a startup to managing a large team at a mid-sized company.
Ben’s guidance helped me identify the types of roles that aligned with my skills and increased my chances of success. He pointed me toward valuable resources that improved how I communicated during a career transition. I’m very grateful for his insights and highly recommend him to anyone navigating a career shift.
